Summit Logo Refinement

- Logo & Logo Variants
Brief:
Refine the nCino Summit event logomark to align with the newly refreshed nCino wordmark. While the branding should feel global in scope, the design needs to be flexible enough to include regional details like the event location or year. The updated Summit logo should also feel visually in sync with the nSight logo, our flagship event, so everything looks cohesive across the brand family.
About the project
As part of nCino’s brand evolution, the logo went through a quiet transformation. It’s the kind of change that might fly under the radar for most, but if you’re reading this, chances are you’ve got the designer’s eye and you noticed the upgrades. Finer spacing, better balance, and overall sharper presence across web and print.
That upgrade, however, left our event branding looking a bit outdated. The original Summit logo drew inspiration from Mount Fuji which was fitting, since our first summit was in Japan. But as the event scaled globally, the logo lost its regional roots and started to feel a little out of place. My challenge? Redefine the Summit identity in a way that feels fresh, global, and still distinctly nCino.
The Process
OLD LOGO
BRAND REFERENCE
Exploration
Initial exploration looked at using the rounded shape from the U and N to make up the basis of the M’s in the word summit as well as having them joined to bring a fresh approach to the existing logo. This was quickly rejected as the lack of legibility made the word harder to read and in the full colour version looked too much like N’s and not M’s.
Adding the beak back into the M’s made them more legible and the logo feel both approachable and current.
The Final Logo
Final Logo Variants
The final logo had to work in both full colour and monochrome, and on a light and dark background.
For the EMEA version of the logo we opted to keep the letters together on the full colour variants, but add a small gap between the M and E on the mono versions for legibility and accessibility on small sizes.
